Pietro Carnaghi is world leader in the production of vertical lathes of medium and large sizes.
The production range covers machines with a table diameter between 800 mm (31.5 in) to 10.000 mm (32.8 ft).
The maximum turning diameter to be machined with double column design vertical lathes is 14 meter (45.9 ft).
Pietro Carnaghi machines are high quality products. The highest technology available today comes with decades of experience in every type of machining and production needs.
The high structural rigidity of the machines, with the technical solutions guarantee the uniqueness of the machines by Pietro Carnaghi.
Since the early 70s the linear axis on all the machines by Pietro Carnaghi are by means of hydrostatic pockets.
This system ensures the maximum in terms of rigidity, with the addition of a high response to the commands of axes movements. Hydrostatics contribute to eliminate possible vibration and guarantees a better surface finishing of the machined parts.
In addition the absence of contact between the surfaces of the guideways, so the lack of wear, provides long term geometrical quality of the machine.
Many available configurations and accessories for Pietro Carnaghi machines make it possible to perform several complete operations on the parts: turning, milling, drilling, threading, grinding, finishing with automatic measuring probes of the machined part.
